About Female Hormone Panels
Last updated
Female Hormone Panels is an independent guide for women in the United States who want to choose, prepare for and understand hormone lab tests.
Who it is for
We write for women who have a question about their hormones and are not sure which test fits it. Some are looking at their cycle or fertility. Some are asking about perimenopause or menopause. Some have been told to check progesterone, estradiol, FSH, LH, AMH, testosterone or prolactin and want to know what that involves.
What we do
- We point you to the smallest, lowest-priced test that answers your question, not the biggest panel.
- We explain how a walk-in lab test works: choose a test online, take your lab order to a draw site, then read your results online.
- We say plainly what a test can’t tell you, and when to talk with a clinician.
- We list the sources behind every medical claim at the bottom of each article.
- We offer two tools: a test finder, and a cycle timing helper that shows when in the menstrual cycle each hormone is usually tested.
Who writes it
Articles are written by the FHP Editorial Team. We don’t name individual writers, and we don’t claim medical credentials we can’t show. No page on this site carries a medical-review label. How we review explains what we do instead.
How the site is paid for
When you buy a test through a link on this site, we earn a commission. The affiliate disclosure explains how that works and what it does not change.
What this site is not
We are not a lab, a clinic or a medical provider, and nothing here is medical advice. Read the medical disclaimer. We don’t give dosing or treatment advice, and we don’t suggest ways around the state restrictions of a lab service.
