Where walk-in hormone testing is unavailable
The seller we link to does not sell its hormone tests in some states. If you live in one of them, you can’t order from it, and we don’t link to a buy page from here.
If you live in one of these states
Ask a clinician who can order labs where you live. A clinician where you live can order a hormone test through a lab. We don’t give ways around the restriction, and we don’t recommend ordering to another state’s address.
Why states differ
State and federal rules both apply to testing you order yourself. The Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine says oversight is split between federal and state regulations over whether this kind of testing is even permitted. ADLM As one example, a 2015 agreement published by the New York Attorney General states that New York law generally prohibits direct access testing. New York Attorney General
We don’t know why the seller left each state off its list, and we don’t guess. The list is the seller’s. It can change, so check the seller’s page before you order.
Other services have their own lists
Each service sets its own exclusions. Our comparison pages record the state limits that each service states on its own page: lab-based services and at-home kits. A state that is closed to one service may be open to another, and a state open to the seller may be closed to another.
For how the process works once you can order, see how walk-in labs work.
